How many artworks are featured?
We currently feature over 100 public artworks across Palm Springs, including murals, sculptures, fountains, and architectural art. We're constantly adding new pieces as they're created and as we discover existing artworks to document.
Is the site free to use?
Yes! PS Public Art is completely free to use. You can browse the map, search for artworks, and get directions without creating an account. Creating a free account unlocks additional features like saving favorites and syncing across devices. We also offer optional premium collections for those interested in deeper dives into Palm Springs' architectural and cultural history.
How often is content updated?
We update our database regularly as new artworks are created and discovered. Major updates happen monthly, with minor additions and corrections made weekly. Follow us on social media or check back regularly to see what's new.
Who creates and maintains PS Public Art?
PS Public Art is created and maintained by Palm Springs residents who are passionate about art and technology. We're not affiliated with the city government but work to document and celebrate the public art that makes our community special.
Using the Site
Do I need an account to use PS Public Art?
No, you can browse the map, search for artworks, and get directions without an account. However, creating a free account allows you to save favorites, sync your collections across devices, and access additional features as they're released.
How do I save favorites?
After creating an account and logging in, click the heart icon on any artwork to add it to your favorites. Access your favorites anytime from the main menu. Your favorites sync across all devices where you're logged in.
Can I use this site offline?
Currently, PS Public Art requires an internet connection to load the map and artwork data. However, once loaded, basic browsing functions work with limited connectivity. We're exploring offline capabilities for future updates.
Is there a mobile app?
Not yet! The website is fully mobile-optimized and works great on phones and tablets. You can add PS Public Art to your home screen for an app-like experience. A dedicated mobile app may be developed in the future based on user demand.
How do I get directions to an artwork?
Click any artwork on the map to view its details, then tap the "Get Directions" button. This will open turn-by-turn navigation in your preferred map app (Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze) with the artwork's location pre-loaded.
About the Artworks
Can I visit all these artworks?
Most artworks are in public spaces (streets, parks, plazas) and are free to visit anytime. Some are on private property or in hotel/business courtyards. Always respect private property and posted signs. When in doubt, view from public sidewalks.
Are the artworks free to view?
Yes! All public artworks featured on PS Public Art are viewable for free from public spaces. They're meant to be enjoyed by everyone. Some artworks may be located within businesses or hotels that have their own access policies.
Can I take photos of the art?
Yes, photography is encouraged! When sharing on social media, please credit the artist when known. Be respectful—don't touch the artwork, climb on sculptures, or trespass on private property to get your shot.
Who owns these artworks?
Ownership varies. Some are owned by the City of Palm Springs, others by private property owners, businesses, or art organizations. The artists retain copyright to their work. PS Public Art simply documents and provides information about these pieces.
What if I find vandalism or damage?
Please report vandalism or damage to the City of Palm Springs through their non-emergency line or website. You can also contact us at info@pspublic.art so we can update our records and alert others.
Contributing
Can I suggest new artworks to add?
Absolutely! We love discovering new artworks. Email us at info@pspublic.art with the location, description, and any photos you have. Include the artist's name if known. We'll verify and add it to the map.
How do I report incorrect information?
Found an error? Please let us know at info@pspublic.art. Include the artwork name, what's incorrect, and the correct information if you have it. We appreciate help keeping our database accurate.
Can I submit my own photos of artworks?
We're working on a community photo submission feature! In the meantime, you can email high-quality photos to info@pspublic.art. Include the artwork name and your name for credit. By submitting, you grant us permission to use the photo on PS Public Art.
Privacy & Account
What data do you collect?
We collect only what's necessary: email for account creation, favorites/preferences you save, and anonymous usage analytics to improve the site. We never sell your data. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete my account?
You can request account deletion by emailing info@pspublic.art. We'll permanently delete your account and all associated data within 7 days. Note that this action cannot be undone.
Do you share my data with third parties?
We never sell or rent your personal information. We use trusted service providers (Supabase for data storage, Google Analytics for usage insights) who are contractually obligated to protect your data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. We use Stripe for payment processing, which means we never see or store your credit card information. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant and handles billions of dollars in transactions securely. Your payment data is encrypted and protected by industry-leading security.
